Date: Tuesday, November 28, 2017 - Wednesday, November 29, 2017
Madison, Wisconsin 53706
The Land Institute is a founding member and partner in the Green Lands Blue Waters consortium.
The theme of this year’s conference, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems (CIAS), is Continuous Living Cover: Bridging the Gaps with Livestock. Now in its sixth year, the Green Lands Blue Waters Conference is a gathering place for agency, university and nonprofit staff, and farmers and other citizens who share an interest in conservation in the Mississippi River watershed and beyond.
The Land Institute is co-hosting the perennial grains track at the conference and Land Institute perennial legume lead scientist Brandon Schlautman will provide a brief update on his work and Land Institute president Fred Iutzi will provide an overview and challenge presentation at the beginning of the perennial grains breakout titled “On the Path to a New Paradigm of Perennial Agriculture.”
Agenda and registration link are available on the CIAS website here: www.cias.wisc.edu/glbw2017/
This year’s conference is being held in concert with the Savannah Institute’s Perennial Farm Gathering. Attendees from the GLBW Conference and the Perennial Farm Gathering will be joining forces where the agendas overlap, including the Agroforestry Breakout session on the afternoon of the 29th.
