Land Institute News & Events
While the core of our work is plant breeding and agroecology focused on the development and deployment of perennial grains, our work sits at the nexus of food, agriculture, agronomy, evolutionary biology, botany, sustainability, rural and international development, water, soil, and climate. There’s a lot going on in our network of partnerships; here you can learn about how our staff is involved in a number of publications, public events, and activities throughout the year.
Prairie Festival
Our signature annual public event is held the last weekend of September on The Land Institute’s home campus in Salina, Kansas. The New York Times termed the Prairie Festival “an intellectual hootenanny,” and we’ll take it. Make plans to join us for the next Festival, always the last full weekend of September.
Media Coverage
