A New York native, Madeline was first introduced to the idea of turning to nature to inspire solutions for human challenges while studying Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University. Throughout college, she assisted a professor exploring the treatment of wastewater for reuse with plants and bacteria. This experience laid the foundation for the work she does at The Land Institute today, researching ways to transition agriculture toward more sustainable water use.
My most perennial trait: Cycling—both nutrient and transportation. Ask me about minding my “P”s.
