The work of The Land Institute is supported by people motivated by a sense of “oughtness.” This may or may not be a formally recognized term, but it’s a favorite of Wes Jackson’s. It describes a collection of traits – rectitude, wisdom, hope, vision – that collectively inspire individuals to do what is right, what ought to be done.
Almost all our support is from individuals, foundations and businesses. Some have supported us for more than 30 years. They come from nearly every state, and other countries.
