Andrea Sweeting hails from Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management and Conservation Biology from the University of Nebraska in 2018.
What work experiences are most relevant to your position at The Land Institute?
I did an internship with the University of Nebraska herpetology lab collecting data on on animal behavior, as well as did extensive fieldwork in various classes and for the capstone project.
What’s most inspiring about your position at The Land Institute?
I like being able to put all of the tools I’ve studied for the last few years in ecology into practice.
What drew you to work at The Land Institute?
I want a chance to work with an institution that is making such amazing progress in the field of regenerative agriculture, which I think is going to be instrumental in humanity’s adaptation to climate change.
What’s one aspect of your life history that most people don’t know or wouldn’t expect?
My background is actually in dentistry. I started my college career with the full intention of going to dental school until I fell in love with ecology!
