Dakota Santiago currently resides in Salina, Kansas, and contributes to perennial grain research efforts as a Research Assistant. Before joining the research team, they gained experience aligned with The Land Institute’s mission through college coursework and farm and conservation work.

What drew you to work at The Land Institute?

Interest in getting agriculture research assistant experience and The Land Institute’s visions of restorative agriculture

What’s most inspiring about your specific position at The Land Institute?

The variety of projects focused on restorative agriculture

What’s one aspect of your life history that most people don’t know or wouldn’t expect?

I took an experimental theater workshop throughout high school and I dream about that kind of creative work/play often.

What else are you passionate about outside of work?

Arts and crafts
