Frances O’Grady

General Research Assistant

Frances joined The Land Institute as a Research Assistant in the Salina, KS headquarters and considers North Carolina as home. Prior to joining the research team, Frances received their BA from Carleton College and also worked on several farms, including a veganic farm and a farm converted from a former prison.

What drew you to work at The Land Institute?

I read about The Land Institute in Naomi Klein’s This Changes Everything, and I love her!

What’s most inspiring about your specific position at The Land Institute?

I get to learn about many different areas of research, and I’m proud to support the research here.

What perennial crop do you look forward to eating most, and how would you prepare it?

Baki beans in a burrito!

What else are you passionate about outside of work?

Crocheting, writing fiction, cooking soup, and pesto, learning ASL, and pondering the mysteries of life!
