Gina Harding was raised in Shell Rock, Iowa, USA. She holds an Associate’s degree in Biology and hopes to continue her education at Kansas State University, majoring in microbiology, with a minor in plant pathology. Gina is interested in all types of plants, including perennials and annuals, fascinated by how a small seed can grow into such a large, productive plant. At The Land Institute, Gina is the Crop Protection Genetics Research Assistant, working with infecting different plants with various diseases and recording the severity of their reaction to help the team develop ways to prevent the diseases.
