Q&A
What’s most inspiring about your specific position at The Land Institute?
I love reading special notes from our donors, the folks who believe in us and feel inspired to support us with their hard-earned money.
What drew you to work at The Land Institute
I am passionate about environmental sustainability and being able to use my strengths and skills at a company leading the way in sustainable agriculture is exciting!
What perennial grain crop do you look forward to eating the most, and how would you prepare it?
Kernza! I want to try it in all the ways – bread, pasta, NA beer, and snacks.
What else are you passionate about (outside of work)?!
Sustainable living: recycling, composting, planning a garden, and teaching my two tiny humans how to be good stewards of our Earth.
If you were to write a book, what would it be about?
I LOVE reading, and am currently in my audiobook era – not sure that writing a book would be for me, though. If I were to attempt to write a book, it would likely not have one topic, but a series of many unfinished short stories.
What is your motto/favorite quote?
One of my recent favorites that has resonated is “When efficiency is all you’re worried about you pay in resilience.” — Will Harris, White Oak Pastures
What were you like at age 10?
I was always up past my bed time, reading with a flashlight and playing in the creek at the park with my friends, pretending it was Terabithia.
