Malachi graduated from Turkey Trot Homeschool and is currently enrolled at Kansas State in Computer Engineering while he works as a General Research Assistant with The Land Institute in Salina. He has also worked with the organization for the past two summers.


What is most inspiring about your specific position at The Land Institute?

Getting to work with multiple plants and see what is happening with all of them.

What drew you to work at The Land Institute?

The people are nice, and I don’t mind the hard work.

What perennial crop do you look forward to eating most, and how would you prepare it?

I want to deep fry a Kernza olibollen in silphium oil.

What else are you passionate about outside of work?

3D printing, biking, and programming.
