Marilyn Norris was raised just north of Salina, Kansas, USA, with roots in rural Ottawa County. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater from the University of Kansas and a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration from New York University, she now lives in New York City. Still, she remains deeply connected to the Kansas prairie through her work at The Land Institute, where Marilyn is passionate about creative problem-solving, connecting the dots across people and projects, and supporting collaboration through event planning and organizational coordination. She feels particularly at home at The Land Institute because of its headquarters’ proximity to where she was raised and its strong sense of community and care.
My most perennial trait is: Adaptability–whether at home on the rural Kansas prairie, navigating the New York City subway system, or juggling projects across teams and time zones, I thrive wherever I’m planted.
