Cal Poly San Luis Obispo student Natalia Gonzalez came to The Land Institute after watching the Patagonia documentary “Unbroken Ground.” As an Agricultural & Environmental Plant Science major, Natalia wanted to explore plant breeding and grain crops, and has most enjoyed working with perennial wheat from harvest to threshing and preparing for planting. Seeing the variety of seeds each plant produces makes her appreciate the diversity of genes in nature.
