Born in Fargo, North Dakota, USA, Pat Crepps relocated to Salina, Kansas, from Minnesota, where he operated a farm that sold directly to local customers, emphasizing pasture-based and regenerative practices. While enrolled in the Sustainable Food Production program at Minnesota State University-Fergus Falls, he read works by Wes Jackson, and he and his class attended Prairie Festival at The Land Institute. In his current role, Pat is responsible for helping maintain the institute’s home campus grounds and facilities.
My most perennial trait: Crustiness-That’s where the character comes from! Ask me about my crusty Kernza bread loaves, which I deliver to The Land Institute staff nearly every Monday morning.
