Peter Callan
Post-Baccalaureate Researcher, Soil Ecology
Peter Callan joined The Land Institute in 2023 in connection with the New Roots for Restoration project sponsored by the National Science Foundation. In June 2022, Peter graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems and a minor in soil science with experience working both on farms, in a soil lab, as well with the NRCS Pathways Program. He first learned about The Land Institute and perennial grain agriculture from the teaching assistant for his soil course and was inspired by the potential of perennial grains to transform how we live, eat, and interact with the planet.
