
Raised in Orinda, California, Seamus McCarthy completed a degree in Environmental Studies at Macalester College, Minnesota, where he developed a passion for biology and sustainable food systems. He has worked with soil since graduating from college and has heard about The Land Institute’s mission while engaging with local urban and regenerative agriculture organizations. At The Land Institute, Seamus collects and processes data for the Soil Ecology Lab and communicates the findings through well-made figures.
