Siwook had many different roles during his time at The Land, but focused primarily on Kernza® and ecological intensification. Of his motivation for interning at The Land, Siwook says, “I was drawn by the boldness of the vision that is perennial polyculture”.

Q&A

What’s been most inspiring about your time at The Land Institute?

I have been inspired by how dedicated yet humble everyone who works at The Land Institute is.

What would people never guess that you’ve done as part of your role?

I’ve weighed countless pieces of string used to tie individual bundles of Kernza® in order to minimize the error in biomass weight.

Where is your favorite spot or place at TLI?

I love the hay bales by the Silphium field that was aptly named “The Jungle” by the interns.

What’s your motto / favorite quote?

“Captains go down with the ship, my friend, and we are all captains here.” – Pat The Bunny
