TALKING PLANTS: Making Kin with Our Rooted Relations
Aubrey Streit Krug, Land Institute Postdoctoral Fellow for Ecosphere Studies, will participate in a public conversation with scholar Wendy Makoons Geniusz and artist Claire Pentecost exploring plants and how we talk about the natural world in a way that recognizes our interdependence in an entire living system. The free event will be held from 3-5 p.m. at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago.
The event is part of the Garfield Park Conservatory’s Artist in Residence Program’s lecture series. The Garfield Park Conservatory Artist in Residence Program is presented by the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance with funding from the Albert Pick Junior Fund. The Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance is a non-profit organization that works closely with the Chicago Park District to provide educational programming, events, and resources to visitors to the Conservatory, which first opened in 1908.
