Sankara Farm Field Day with Kernza in KC and Lincoln University

Join Sankara Farm for an afternoon demonstrating plot preparation for Kernza in KC and a soil health exploration with Lincoln University‘s soil science lab. This event is coming up on Fri Aug 25, 2023 from 1-5 pm at 11301 East 139th Street, Kansas City, MO 64149. Should inclement weather arise, the rain date is the following day, Sat Aug 26th from 10 am to 2 pm.

“Thank you to those that have helped us in the co-design of the Kernza in KC pilot project. The emerging research direction we are taking for this pilot will be to organize the project around investigating the place for Kernza (and other future perennial grains) in small urban agriculture settings at the hand scale. After listening to the community calls, this usability test seems like a unique opportunity to engage in a regional foodshed while keying in varied interests (including growing in polycultures and soil testing). We aim to provide participants with educational materials in addition to support through site visits and field days to engage this learning community as we investigate these methods together.”
