Date: Monday, October 16, 2023

Time:

Location:
Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming
362 Glynwood Rd
Cold Spring, New York 10516

This public event, facilitated by the Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming and the Culinary Breeding Network and partially funded by the USDA-NIFA-OREI project Value-Added Grains for Local and Regional Food Systems II, is designed to build community among plant breeders, seed growers, farmers, chefs, bakers, distillers, retailers, distributors, and consumers interested in the local food system. Attendees will have a unique experience of tasting new and in-development vegetable, fruit, and grain cultivars. Attendees will engage in conversation, share opinions, and take part in breaking down the walls between eaters and breeders. The 2023 Variety Showcase will have a special emphasis on culinary grains, with staff from The Land Institute’s Crop Stewardship team attending to highlight a Kernza dish cooked by Steven Gonzales, co-founder of Sfoglini and developer of the Patagonia Provisions Kernza® Fusilli pasta.

Tickets are available on a sliding scale of $50-$125. Any questions about the event can be directed to Lane Selman at lane.selman@oregonstate.edu and Glynwood Grains and Staples at grainsandstaples@glynwood.org. Click here to learn more and purchase tickets.
