Rooted in North Americaโs Central Great Plains since 1976, The Land Institute has spent 25 years developing perennial grain prototypes and catalyzing global research efforts. Today, The Land Institute facilitates collaborations and networks across 6 continents in over 30 countries with 200+ researchers to realize perennial grain agriculture.
While we began primarily collaborating and supporting natural and social scientists in agricultural and agroecological systems research, we are growing to include partnerships with farmers, NGOs, governments, civic scientists, community groups, policymakers, advocates, supply chain actors, and food and beverage makers and companies.
The Land Institute engages with organizations and individuals working to advance the development of perennial grain agriculture in plant breeding, cropping systems, agroecology, social science, and transdisciplinary research. Here are a few of our key partners. Explore the map above to learn more.
