At The Land Institute, we’re not only cultivating the future of farming; we’re building a movement. From ingredient and application guidelines to marketing materials, we’re working hard to ensure producers across the food system can reap—and amplify—the rewards of perennial agriculture. Together, we can lay the foundation for market success, profitability, and better options for an ever-growing community of eaters.
While Kernza® (in the US) and perennial rice (in China, Southeast Asia, and Africa) are the only two perennial grains in early commercialization, we anticipate more grains will move off of research stations and onto farms in the coming 5-10 years. Promising candidates include perennial Baki™ bean, perennial wheat, and perennial sorghum.
Engage with your customers on the significance of Kernza perennial grain and its benefits in food and beverage, agriculture, and sustainability.
