Intermediate wheatgrass as a dual use crop for grain and grazing

Raised on a dairy farm in southwest Minnesota, Marty Christians earned a Bachelor’s in Art and Environmental Studies from Dordt College, Iowa. After college in Wisconsin, he developed an appreciation and passion for the health of the natural world while working in the fields of habitat restoration and community food production at Michael Fields Agricultural Institute and Applied Ecological Services. At the Land Institute, Marty works on the Kernza perennial grain breeding program, promoting Kernza as a healthy food and a viable crop for farmers to help agricultural lands function more like natural ecosystems.
My most perennial trait: Consistency-I steadily support The Land Institute’s work with Kernza in whatever ways I can.
