Jean-Luc Jannink was born in North Carolina to European parents, spent his adolescence in Switzerland, and subsequently returned to the US. He now resides in Ithaca, NY. His interest in agriculture while studying at a liberal arts college led him to an internship to experience sustainable agriculture research. Jean-Luc continues to work in plant breeding for sustainable agriculture, but has fallen from the path of righteousness by working on annuals. At The Land Institute, Jean-Luc worked on Illinois Bundleflower with Peter Kulakow, later reconnecting with him to improve cassava in Nigeria.
My most perennial trait is Justice – I want my actions to lead to greater fairness in the world .
