Former 1991 Land Institute intern Adam Davis now lives in Urbana, IL, where he serves as Professor of Agroecology and Head of the Department of Crop Sciences at the University of Illinois. His scholarly interests center on farming for ecosystem services. While studying for a final in terrestrial ecology at the Forestry Library and wondering what he would do with his life after graduation, Adam noticed a fascinating flyer on the bulletin board featuring an intricate drawing of prairie plant roots and calling for interns. That flyer was a portal into a whole new world. As an intern at The Land Institute, Adam supported the study of MDMV (Maize Dwarf Mosaic Virus) in Eastern Gama Grass and conducted a statewide germplasm collection.
My most perennial trait is Curiosity – Learning is a joy, and guides each step of the journey.
