Raised on a small farm nestled in the forested hills of the Missouri Ozarks, Ethan Gwin cultivated an early connection to the land. He earned degrees in Ecology and Field Biology as well as Conservation and Wildlife Management from the College of the Ozarks. From his background in farming and education in ecology, Ethan became fascinated by the ecological aspects of agricultural systems and how they could shape the future of agriculture. At The Land Institute, he focuses on studying plant diseases to help defend perennial grain plants, driven by a passion to ensure farmers have the resources they need for long-term success.
My most perennial trait: Enthusiasm—it fuels my persistence in research and in my hope for the future.
