Gina Harding

Gina Harding was raised in Shell Rock, Iowa, USA. She holds an Associate’s degree in Biology and hopes to continue her education at Kansas State University, majoring in microbiology, with a minor in plant pathology. Gina is interested in all types of plants, including perennials and annuals, fascinated by how a small seed can grow into such a large, productive plant. At The Land Institute, Gina formally worked as the Crop Protection Genetics Research Assistant, infecting different plants with various diseases and recording the severity of their reactions to help the team develop ways to prevent the diseases. She now works on the Crop Stewardship team as the Trademark Management Specialist, a new position that supports and enacts the daily operations of managing the Kernza® trademark from annual monitoring of grain quality to licensing processes and follow-up.
