Raised in Mobile, Alabama, Jacob Barefoot completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of South Alabama. He fell in love with plant science during his undergraduate studies, then pursued a career focused on sustainable agriculture. At The Land Institute, Jacob investigates how soil microbial processes influence the growth outcomes of perennial grain crops.
