Kübra Erkoc’s scientific journey began in Türkiye and led her to the Kansas prairies, driven by her dedication to research that enhances plant communities. While researching sainfoin (perennial Baki™ bean) genetics and breeding in Türkiye, she became interested in the transformative potential of perennial, resilient crops. This interest brought her to The Land Institute, where she joined as a Research Scholar in 2024 in the Perennial Legumes program. Kübra contributes her expertise in genomics and breeding to support resilient, sustainable agriculture and is inspired by a community committed to ecological stewardship and innovation.
My most perennial traits are Curiosity and Perseverance – I have a fascination with understanding how plants adapt, evolve, and help sustain life. Whether in the field, the laboratory, or life, I believe meaningful discoveries come from patience and persistence.
