A resident of many places across the US, Rebecca Geisen has been settled in the Pacific Northwest for the past 30 years, fostering connection to our precious water resources. At UC Berkeley’s College of Natural Resources, Rebecca studied under Arnold Schultz, a friend of Wes Jackson’s, who introduced her to the Land Institute’s work. At age 29, The Land Institute provided an opportunity to explore a passion for sustainable agriculture and chart a new path. Rebecca’s career focused on water resources at the state and local level – bringing an ethic of interconnectedness and integrated resource management. As a former intern, Rebecca was also a photographer and contributed many photos to the Land Institute’s newsletter, The Land Report.
My most perennial trait is Collaboration – bringing people together to solve problems, learn from each other, and share resources.
