A native of rural Upstate NY, Sasha Kramer has lived and worked in Haiti since 2006, designing and implementing ecological sanitation services for urban areas that lack infrastructure. She was deeply inspired by The Land Institute’s commitment to bringing together people and nature through innovative approaches to sustainable agriculture. Sasha is an ecologist and human rights advocate, and The Land Institute’s approach, which considers humans as an integral part of ecosystems, has always resonated with her. Her experiences at The Land Institute as a graduate student fellow inspired her to pursue action-oriented research, eventually leading to a career in Haiti, where she leverages the power of ecological systems to address basic human rights issues, such as sanitation.
My most perennial trait is Sticktuitiveness – In the words of the great Lisa Simpson, I am nothing if not tenacious and persistent.
