Kernza field day: Practical Farmers of Iowa - The Land Institute

Central Iowa farmers Caleb Akin and Noah Wendt are hosting a Kernza field day with Practical Farmers of Iowa on July 21, 2026, to discuss the benefits of Kernza® perennial grain, sunflower, and oats, and of organic agriculture, for achieving financial and agronomic sustainability. Attend the field day this summer to view their Kernza fields, which are in their second season of growth, and learn about the use of Kernza to reduce tillage in organic fields.

The field day takes place at A & W Farms at 29630 600th Avenue, Cambridge, Iowa 50046. A light meal sponsored by Mad Capital will follow the event. Attendees must RSVP in advance, but there is no fee to attend.
