We are excited to announce that The Land Institute is one of nine finalists for the international Food Planet Prize sponsored by the Curt Bergfors Foundation! Out of more than 650 nominations from around the world, we were chosen for our bold vision of reshaping agriculture from one based mainly on extractive annual monocultures, to one that mimics natural ecosystems, weighted towards perennials grown in polycultures. We realize that we must produce more food for more people than ever before, but cannot do at the cost of future fertility of soil. Our vision encompasses the health of the planet and collaboration with an ever wider network of research partners and growers.
