Place Out of Matter exhibition by Rena Detrixhe
Date: Wednesday, May 1, 2019 - Sunday, June 16, 2019
Time:
The Land Institute research resident, Rena Detrixhe, explores the systems of value, cultural relations to land, and the more-than-human world with attention to histories of injustice through large-scale objects and installations, ephemeral sculpture, performance, drawings, and process-based work. Her current research is focused on Midwestern agriculture as both an important cultural signifier, and a deeply troubled relationship to the land.
Rena’s Place Out of Matter exhibition brings her signature earthwork, Red Dirt Rug, to New York City for the first time. The free and open to the public exhibit will be on display May 1-June 16, 2019.
