The 2023 Wilkes Climate Summit will take place at the University of Utah from May 16 to May 17, 2023, in Salt Lake City. This two-day event is split into two themes: 1.) Frontiers in Climate Solutions and 2.) Science and Innovation Need to Accelerate Solutions. This summit will bring together Utah’s leading policymakers, nationally-recognized scientists, foundations, and innovators to discuss the most promising and cutting-edge solutions for climate change.

During the first day of the summit on May 16, Brandon Schlautman (Lead Scientist, Perennial Legumes) will be speaking on research related to the perennial legume sainfoin, a crop that is currently in development at The Land Institute. His presentation will take place between 10:45 am to 12:30 pm MT.

Amy Cole, Chief Impact Officer at The Land Institute, will attend the summit to connect and engage the Wilkes Center for Climate Science & Policy and the broader science, innovation, and climate solution funders and key stakeholders. Jessica Kleoppel, Senior Impact Manager, and Tammy Kimbler, Chief Communications Officer, will continue to support the endeavor virtually.
