Field Store House in Duluth, Minnesota, is hosting a screening of the Prairie Prophecy documentary at the Zeitgeist Theatre. This film explores the life and work of Wes Jackson, co-founder of The Land Institute. It also highlights Jackson’s “natural systems agriculture” framework, which forms the backbone of the organization’s work to pursue a perennial agriculture transformation.
Following the screening, panelists Kelsey Whiting (The Land Institute), Matt Leavitt (Forever Green Initiative), and Sandy Boss Febbo (Bang Brewing) will lead a discussion with the audience around ongoing work with perennial grains and their benefits to people and the planet. Attendees will also learn how the film relates to the Duluth community and micro-region.
Tickets for the screening are $20 and directly support the work of the filmmakers and the perennial grain agriculture work at Field Store House. Tickets also include a 6-oz pour of Kernza beer from St. Paul’s Bang Brewing or a non-alcoholic Kernza beer option from Deschutes Brewery.
This film screening is co-hosted by Field Store House and the University of Minnesota – Duluth’s Institute on the Environment.
