Is it possible to raise crops that can feed the world yet have little impact on the environment? Rachel Stroer, President of The Land Institute, believes it’s not only possible, but it will become increasingly necessary to develop sustainable agriculture in the coming decades. The Land Institute appointed Rachel its third president on April 1, 2021. She leads the Institute’s international research efforts to breed perennial grain crops and develop polyculture practices that mimic natural ecosystems.
