We invite you to attend the World Premiere of Prairie Prophecy, the feature documentary about the life and life’s work of Wes Jackson, renowned author, environmentalist, and co-founder of The Land Institute. The premiere will be held at the Stiefel Theatre in downtown Salina, Kansas, at 6:00 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025, followed by a question-and-answer panel with Jackson, cast experts, and the filmmakers. Tickets are on sale now.

If you will be in the Salina area ahead of Saturday, you can join us at the many events leading up to the screening, like campus tours at The Land Institute, Kernza® perennial grain food and drinks at local businesses, and more:
- The Land Institute Community Tours (10 am and 1 pm)—Join researchers and staff to discuss new developments in perennial grain agriculture while touring the grounds and facilities of our Salina headquarters. Attendance is free, but registration is required. Register for the Morning Tour from 10 am to 11:30 am or the Afternoon Tour from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.
- Spring Plant Identification Walk (3 pm)—Join Aubrey Streit Krug, TLI Director of the Perennial Cultures Lab, for a guided walk exploring and identifying the prairie plants on the Wauhob Prairie remnant on The Land Institute campus. Attendance is free, but registration is required. Register for the Spring Plant ID Walk from 3 pm to 4 pm.
- Beer Saves the World Film Screening (5 pm)—Restaurant and brewhouse The Farm and the Odd Fellows in Minneapolis, Kansas, will host a viewing of Beer Saves the World, a short documentary about the story of Kernza® perennial grain in the craft brewing industry. Happy Hour starts at 5 pm, and the film begins at 6 pm, followed by a Q&A panel discussion with Kernza breeder Lee DeHaan and a farmer, brewer, and filmmaker. A second screening is at 8 pm. - Prairie Prophecy Documentary Premiere (5 pm)—Join us at The Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts, and be sure to purchase tickets in advance. Doors open at 5 pm, the film begins at 6 pm, and the Panel Discussion and Q&A will follow at 7:45 pm.
