Community Days: Celebrate Women in Science - The Land Institute

Join us for Community Days at Marty Bender Nature Area in Salina, Kansas! The final event of the spring schedule for this new series takes place on June 20, 2026, from 8 – 10 am at the Marty Bender Nature Area located at 3028 S Holmes Rd, Salina, KS 67401.

This event will be a celebration of women in science and nature, where women of The Land Institute will talk about their work in perennial agriculture. Afterward, our special guests, Women Hiking Kansas and Beyond, will lead the community on a hike of the 3-mile loop trail.

The schedule for this event includes:

8-8:30 am: Women of The Land Institute will present about their work in the sciences and the perennial agriculture movement.
8:30-10 am: Join a 3-mile nature hike led by Women Hiking KS & Beyond.

This event is designed for women 12 years and older. Kids are welcome if accompanied by an adult. A restroom will be available.

Please RSVP so that we have a good estimate of total attendance. This will also allow us to communicate with you via email on the day before the event with instructions and final details. Note that this event is subject to the weather, with a rainout date set for July 18th, 2026.
