Hosts of the Savanna Institute’s “Perennial AF” podcast interviewed authors Dr. Liz Carlisle and Dr. Aubrey Streit Krug (The Land Institute’s Director of Perennial Cultures) to discuss their forthcoming book, Living Roots: The Promise of Perennial Foods. This episode highlights the broader perennial agriculture movement, its benefits to people and the planet, and the communities and stories that shape it.
Living Roots incorporates perspectives from experts across numerous backgrounds and lived experiences to examine the potential of perennial agriculture, including perennial grains, indigenous food forests, fruit trees, nuts, berries, and more, for sustaining communities and protecting the health of our shared planet.
The book will launch at the Savanna Institute’s Perennial Farm Gathering in Dubuque, Iowa, on March 12, 2026, where the authors will host their book launch and book signing. Click here to learn more about this event.
