The Savanna Institute is hosting authors Liz Carlisle and Aubrey Streit Krug (Director of The Land Institute’s Perennial Cultures Lab) for a book launch and signing of their forthcoming book, Living Roots: The Promise of Perennial Foods, at their 2026 Perennial Farm Gathering from March 11-13.

Living Roots incorporates perspectives from experts across numerous backgrounds and lived experiences to examine the promise of perennial foods such as perennial grains, indigenous food forests, fruit trees, nuts, berries, and more for sustaining communities and protecting the health of our shared planet.
The Perennial Farm Gathering is an event that brings together leaders and practitioners in the perennial agriculture community from across the Midwest to share work and research and engage in panels and workshops to advance perennial agriculture. The Land Institute is one of several event sponsors for this year’s event.
