Malachi graduated from Turkey Trot Homeschool and is currently enrolled at Kansas State in Computer Engineering while he works as a General Research Assistant with The Land Institute in Salina. He has also worked as a Research Assistant with the organization for the past few summers.

What is most inspiring about your specific position at The Land Institute?
Seeing the plants I worked with and the experiments I’ve worked on in previous years continue to make progress.
What drew you to work at The Land Institute?
The people are nice, and I don’t mind the hard work.
What perennial grain do you look forward to eating most, and how would you prepare it?
I want to bake Kernza biscuits in a cast iron skillet.
What else are you passionate about outside of work?
Digital Technology and high performance computing. I don’t care what the problem is – if it requires high-end computer hardware, I will find it interesting.
